Ferdinando’s Focacceria Restaurant

the brooklyn restaurant that sells this tummy-stuffer is a legendary establishment, with tables, chairs, and fixtures creaking with age and secrets. the eatery’s greatest claim to fame, though, is the panelle and potato combo, a ‘wich that features a deep-fried potato croquette and slices of chickpea flour coated with a liberal dollop of ricotta. the offering is more like a breakfast puff pastry than a regular ‘wich; such rich, creamy, fried goodness should probably be sampled in the late afternoon, though, rather than at the top of your day. delicious and slumber-inducing. you’ve been warned.
